Upon college graduation, Roger accepted a position as District Scout Executive with the Viking Council Boy Scouts in Minneapolis. Roger and Marilyn's marriage was blessed with two children, Laura Holtey Pettis and Marc Holtey. The three grandchildren; Emma, Elliana, and Ethan Pettis were Roger's pride and joy.
