STEVENS POINT, Wis. - Funeral services for Loren Henry Ziemer, 94, of Stevens Point, Wis., formerly from this area, will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Junction City, Wis. He will be laid to rest in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Kasson, Minn.

Loren passed away peacefully Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, at Care Partners Assisted Living, Stevens Point, Wis. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Thursday at the church. Martens/Rembs Funeral Home, Junction City, Wis., is in charge of the arrangements.

Loren Henry Ziemer was born June 15, 1918, to Ellsworth G. and Lottie Alivina (Dreke) Ziemer in Lake Freemont Township, Martin County, Minn. He was the eldest of five children. He was raised at his parents' farm, attended school, was a loyal church member of the Lutheran faith and enjoyed playing baseball.

Loren married Leona Allen. They farmed close to Dunnell, Minn. To this union, one child, Marcia, was born. They later divorced. He later married Ada and they moved to Kasson, Minn., where they farmed for many years. Ada passed away on Dec. 22, 1979. He later married June and moved to Stevens Point, Wis. He purchased the Cedar Inn, which they operated until June's death.

Survivors include: daughter, Marcia (Jack) Huff of Weatherby, Mo.; grandchildren, Lori (Joe) Wille of Williams, Iowa, Jeff (Janet) Stotser of Kingman, Ariz.; granddaughter-in-law, Cheryl (Danny) Butler of Iowa Falls, Iowa; seven great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; brother, Martin (Lois) Ziemer of Dunnell, Minn.; sister, Myra Schmidtke of Walker, Minn.; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Loren was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Walter; a sister, Geraldine; and one grandson, Michael Stotser in 1990.
