TRUMAN - Truman's girls basketball team outscored the Maple River Eagles 34-24 in the second half en route to a 57-46 Valley Conference Showcase victory on Monday.

Brooke McDonald and Emily Zaharia each garnered double-doubles to lead the Bluejays. McDonald scored a team-high 15 points to go with 11 rebounds, while Zaharia netted 14 points, 10 rebounds and added six assists and three blocks.

Cleo Maloney added 11 points to Truman's winning ways.

Jozie Ostermann scored a game-high 17 points to lead the Eagles, while Lauren Caven tallied 16 points.

Truman sank 20 of 33 free throws, while Maple River went 8-for-18 from the charity stripe.

Truman (3-19) travels to Lake Crystal for a Showcase tilt Thursday.

Martin County West 59, Nicollet 44 - Three Mavericks scored in double figures to down the Raiders 59-44 in a Valley Conference Showcase game on Monday in Trimont.

Taryn Tumbleson scored a game-high 19 points to go with six steals to pace the Mavericks' efforts.

Kate Thiesse provided a double-double of 13 points and 13 rebounds, to complement five steals for MCW, while Madyson Larson scored 11 points.

Reilly Geistfeld grabbed eight boards for MCW.

Katelyn Skrien scored 17 points to lead the Raiders, while Kayla Giefer and Carissa Woller added 11 and 10 points, respectively.

MCW sank 25 of 64 field goals, including 4 of 10 from behind the arc, while going 5 of 14 from the free throw line.

Martin County West (18-2) travels to Alden for a Showcase game against Alden-Conger on Thursday.

Humboldt 51, North Union 46 - The Wildcats rallied after trailing at the end of the third quarter to beat the Warriors 51-46 in basketball action on Monday in Humboldt, Iowa.

Aurora Oliver netted 14 points and seven rebounds to lead North Union, while Cheyanne Boland scored nine points and made four steals.

Dena Looft, Madison Bollig and Sarah Rolling each contributed six points for the Warriors.

North Union made 4 of 8 from behind the arc, sank 11 of 36 from 2-point range and hit 12-for-18 at the free throw line.

North Union (13-7, 8-2 Corn Belt) hosts Lake Mills in a 6 p.m. game today in Armstrong.
