To the Editor:
Thank you for publishing heart-warming dog and cat stories. I enjoy reading those.
Thankfully, there are caring people like Geoff and Anne Warmouth. To read about them taking in "Wesley" ("Tabby keeps watch over Waukee") and caring for him all of these years since 1998 was indeed wonderful.
The "Special dog pulls double duty" article published Jan. 31 tells of an apparently loving, well-trained, sensitive, caring therapy dog named Jaxson.
How sad for Jaxson, though, if "an occasional eye poke or grab of his tongue," is a way he is sometimes "loved." This is not OK. To inflict discomfort or pain on a precious creature, or to allow it to happen, is inhumane.
