DUBUQUE, Iowa - Services for Robin L. Sanders, 48, of Dubuque, formerly of Fairmont, Minn., will be 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Rd., Dubuque, Iowa with Pastor Diane Grace officiating.

Robin passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center, Dubuque. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Robin was born June 21, 1964, in Fairmont, Minn., daughter of Leanne (Zalesky) and Duane Senne. She married Michael A. Sanders on Aug. 21, 1982.

Robin arrive in Dubuque in August of 1982 and immediately found work at Sunnycrest Manor. Robin worked from 1982 to 2011. Every person at Sunnycrest was like family to her. She retired and committed her life to her husband, children, grandchildren and her dogs.

Robin enjoyed many things. She volunteered at Sunnycrest after retirement, planted flowers and especially the trip to Hawaii with Mike in 2012. It was the vacation of her life.

Survivors include: her loving husband, Mike; four children, Nathan (Letha Mihalakis) Sanders, Natalie (Eli Merfeld) Sanders, Shawn (Tom) Kohnen of Dubuque and Jeremy (Nikki Tigges) Sanders of Wisconsin; seven grandsons, one granddaughter, and Nathan and Letha's little princess who is due Jan. 29, 2013. Robin wanted to love and cherish this little one as she did all the others. She also has one great-grandson; parents, Duane and Leanne Senne; four sisters, Shelly (Ed) Clayton of Illinois, Rhonda (Duane) Haney, Nicole (Brian) Allen and Lynette (Jay) Katzenmeyer and one brother Todd Shumski all of Minn.; many brothers and sister-in-laws, and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her loving dogs Charlie (Tuna) and Dozer (Bubba).

Preceded in death by her grandparents, Serle and Marjorie Zalesky, Earl and Irene Senne; mother-in-law, Grace Sanders; nephew, Toby and his daughter, Marley Tischhauser; and her beloved dog, Jack.
