FAIRMONT?-?Memorial service for Arnetta "Fern" Barringer, 82, of Fairmont, Minn., will be 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at Evangelical Covenant Church in Fairmont, with inurnment in Lakeside Cemetery in Fairmont.
Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. Monday until the time of the service at the church. Fern passed away Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 2, 2013, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato, Minn.
Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.
Arnetta Fern (Kinnison) Barringer was born May 19, 1930, in Mill Grove, Mo. She was the daughter of B.G. and Louise (Young) Kinnison. The family lived in Mill Grove until Fern was 9 years old. They moved to Bingham Canyon, where her dad worked in a copper mine. When she was 13 years old, they moved back to Missouri before finally moving to Atlantic, Iowa. It is there that she graduated high school and met Jim Barringer, the love of her life. They were married on Sept. 28, 1952, and lived "happily ever after."
Fern loved the Lord Jesus and tried to live her life centered around Him. She leaves this message; "I love you all very much. Please, live a Christ-centered life. You will be so blessed. When your time comes, I'll see you in Heaven. That's where I'll be."
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, James Barringer of Fairmont, Minn.; sons, Rod Barringer and his wife, Jennifer, of Fairmont, Minn., and Rick Barringer and his wife, Jody, of Prior Lake, Minn.; five grandchildren, Adam Barringer and his wife, Gina, of Shakopee, Minn., Ashley Barringer of Minneapolis, Minn., Seth Barringer of Prior Lake, Minn., Ashlee Castano and her husband, Ashton, of Mound, Minn., and Megan Barringer of Fairmont, Minn.; four great grandchildren; brothers, Archie Kinnison and his wife, Lois, of Glendale, Ariz., Vernon Kinnison and friend, Sharon, of Wiota, Iowa, Larry Kinnison and his wife, Lucia, of Oakland, Iowa, and Keith Kinnison and his wife, Denise, of Iowa City, Iowa; sister-in-law, Joan Weirich of Atlantic, Iowa; and many beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Along with her parents, B.G. and Louise Kinnison, Fern was preceded in death by her sisters-in-law, Virginia Bolz and her husband, Ken, June Martin and her husband, Harry, and Nancy Armstrong; and brothers-in-law, Bill Barringer and his wife, Connie, and Jerry Barringer.
