TRIMONT - Services for John C. Ekstadt, 80, of Lakeville, formerly of Trimont, will be 10 a.m. Friday at First Lutheran Church, Trimont. Burial will be in First Lutheran Cemetery, rural Trimont, with full military honors by Foster-Bernhardt American Legion Post 373, Trimont.

Ekstadt died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at Southview Acres Care Center, West St. Paul. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today at Kramer Family Funeral Home, Trimont, and one hour prior to services at the church.

John Carl Ekstadt was born May 9, 1932, in what was then Triumph, son of Clifford E. and Ruth E. (Ogren) Ekstadt. He served in the U.S. Navy 1951-55, serving on the USS Curtiss AV-4, and in Operation Ivy in 1952 and Operation Castle in 1954.

Survivors include: wife, Joyce; daughters, Cheryl Swanson of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Leanne of Minneapolis; son, Paul of Lakeville; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Bonnilou Ekstadt of Trimont.
