Treva Marie (Barnes) Martin was born March 13, 1921, in Oxford, Iowa, the daughter of Walter and Ruth (Crowther) Barnes. She attended school in Sleepy Eye, Minn., graduating from Sleepy Eye High School. Following her graduation, Treva enrolled in Hamlin University, where she obtained her degree.
After college, Treva moved to California, where she taught, and then returned to Minnesota, moving to Fairmont in 1959. Treva taught at William Budd School in Fairmont for many years, teaching the kindergarten and first-grade classes toward the end of her career.
Her spare time was spent with family and friends. She cherished memories made with her son and treasured the opportunity to have her parents close when they moved to Fairmont later in their lives.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, John Martin; a brother, Kriss Barnes; as well as many other extended family and friends.
Treva is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Ruth Barnes.
