MOUND - JoAnn K. Paulsen (Becker), 71, of Mound, Minn., passed away suddenly at her home on Friday, Oct. 26, 2012. Visitation will take place 5:30-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, at the David Lee Funeral Home in Wayzata, Minn. Services will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Navarre, Minn., on Saturday, Nov. 3, at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be at a later date.
JoAnn was born March 9, 1941, daughter to Walter and Alma (Wolter) Becker. She attended St. James Lutheran School, Northrop, and graduated from Fairmont High School in 1959. JoAnn graduated from Macalester College in 1963, St. Paul, Minn., with a Bachelor of Science Degree and worked as a medical technologist for more than 30 years at Waconia Ridgeview Hospital. She married Gary Paulsen in 1964. Gary passed away in 1999. JoAnn was an active member of the altar guild, enjoyed traveling with her family, gardening, and following politics.
JoAnn is survived by sons Michael and Charles Paulsen of Mound, Minn.; brother Larry and his wife Linda (Fairmont); sister-in-law Gayle and her husband Howie Tyson (Thornton, Colo.); brother-in-law Doug and wife Celeste (Bloomington); and many devoted cousins, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by daughter Julie; husband Gary; and by her parents Walter and Alma Becker.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to go to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Navarre, Minn.
