To the Editor:
The Fairmont Area Chamber of Commerce is proud of our students and school and values our partnership with the educational community. In support of our mission of promoting a healthy business climate through leadership, communication and education, we partner with our schools on the following projects: Junior Achievement, Stuff for School, ag education, scholarships, Early Childhood Initiative, post prom, Area Career Exploration (ACE), teacher recognition banquet, CER, Martin County Youth Foundation, and Fairmont Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition.
Families, businesses and schools create a basic structure that is key to our long-term viability. Our future requires that all three components are healthy and vibrant. Without a strong education system, we cannot hope to recruit and retain families, businesses, industries, teachers and professionals.
Our Chamber board supports our entire educational community, and together we look forward to a healthy future for Fairmont. Please educate yourself on the school's referendum, understand the consequences and then vote yes on Nov. 6.
