To the Editor:
I want to thank our law enforcement people to let them know they are appreciated.
I had a flat tire yesterday a few miles south of Hutchinson. I had everything along needed to change the flat except my tire iron. (I must have used it elsewhere and forgot to put it back!). Thank God a highway patrolman stopped and let us use his. But he left before I could thank him properly.
The incident reminded me that, contrary to the majority of news items and recognizing there may be a few rogues as there are in any workforce, by and large our law enforcement people are good people; people just like you and me. Their main concern when leaving for work is that they will return safely to their home and family.
As for the rest of us, staying on their good side is so simple - all we have to do is behave.
