Obama lacks sense

August 14, 2012

To the Editor:

Obama's claims about Bain Capital and Romney are not impressing many people. Obama lacks any comprehension of how business works and, as a Marxist, believes individual success trickles down from the state.

He tries to make it seem as though Romney's building or restructuring of companies was a really bad practice and ended up costing a lot of jobs. He and the lapdog press conveniently forget the fact that Obama's own policies "outsourced" 120,000 jobs or so in the petroleum industry alone in the aftermath of the oil spill, due to the illegal moratorium he placed on offshore drilling in the Gulf. And the delays he caused by not allowing other countries to help plug the spill cost the Gulf shore economy billions of dollars in lost business and thousands of lost jobs.

Of course, the oil spill was not the only time Obama's actions caused massive numbers of jobs to be lost. When the Obama cabal seized GM and Chrysler, hundreds of auto dealerships, the majority of which were owned and operated by Republicans, were summarily closed for the benefit of dealerships owned by Democrat backers. Those hundreds of dealerships involved thousands of people whose jobs were eliminated for purely political purposes.

But worst of all, Obama's total ignorance of, and disdain for, America's small business owners and for private enterprise in general has resulted in continuing record high unemployment, considerable devaluation of the dollar, an economy that is stumbling at best, a record number of people getting food stamps, downgrading of the U.S. credit rating, and a huge increase in the U.S. debt.

Obama's big problem is not that he inherited economic problems from the Bush administration; it is that he is utterly incapable of resolving the problem because of his communist ideology and the utter contempt he has for this country. Growing a bigger, more intrusive, more controlling, government is not, never has been, and never will be the answer to any problem. Bureaucracies don't add anything to the economy.

A good example is Obamacare, the flagship achievement of the Democrat Party and which is an intolerable law as far as the vast majority of Americans are concerned. No one with an ounce of common sense could possible believe that putting 253 new federal bureaucracies in place and replicating them on the state level will reduce the cost of health care or improve our health care system at all. But then, Obamacare is really not about health care. It is a mechanism to control people. Witness the utter disregard of the Obama cabal for the constitutional right of conscience and for the Constitution and laws of the U.S. in general.
