ARMSTRONG - Services for Melvin Cronk, 88, of Armstrong will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Armstrong United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Armstrong Grove Cemetery with military graveside rites by the Armstrong VFW post.

Cronk died Thursday morning, July 26, 2012, at Valley Vue Care Center, Armstrong. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel, Armstrong.

Melvin Cronk was born July 3, 1924, in rural Armstrong, son of Earl and Lena (Laatz) Cronk. He served during World War II from 1943-46 in 363rd MPs, 337th Combat Engineers (Italy) and 863rd Aviation Engineers (Philippines).

Survivors include: wife, Dorothy; sons, Jeffrey of Royal, David of Spencer and Kevin of Colorado Springs, Colo.; six grandchildren; one stepgranddaughter; one stepgreat-granddaughter; and sisters, Lois Coderman of Moberly, Mo., and Marlene Hittesdorf of McGregor, Texas.
