16B softball sweeps Sibley East

FAIRMONT - Fairmont's Peyton Oleson was a walk away from a perfect game in a 12-0 16B softball victory over Sibley East in game one of a double header on Thursday, July 12 in Mankato.

Oleson struck out 13 batters in five innings to give Fairmont the edge against Sibley East in the game one win.

Micaela Gochanour hit a home run, scored three runs and collected two RBIs to lead Fairmont at the plate, while Amanda Schuder had three hits and collected three RBIs in the win.

Allison Moeller scored two runs and collected an RBI, while Alyson Eversman, Amber Schulz, Kristen Campe and Payton Walser each added runs scored.

Gochanour and Oleson each hit a home run, scored two runs and collected two RBIs in the 19-4 game two three-inning victory over Sibley East.

Eversman and Campe each scored three runs and collected an RBI with one hit in the win.

Tieryn Arens collected two RBIs and a run scored, while Moeller scored three runs and collected one RBI.

Schuder, Schulz and MiKayla Krzywicki each scored a run and Samm Rosenberg scored two runs in the victory.

Krzywicki pitched 2 1/3 innings, allowing four runs on three hits, striking out three and walking two in the win.

Oleson came in and struck out the final two batters to end the game.

Fairmont 7-10, Mankato Peppers 6-11 - Fairmont's Gochanour hit a triple, and scored one run to pace the 16B softball team in a 7-6 victory in game one of a double header over the Mankato Peppers on Tuesday, July 10 at Hands Park in Fairmont.

Eversman added an RBI and a run scored in the win, while Moeller and Walser each scored a run on one hit.

Krzywicki and Arens each collected an RBI, with Campe and Rosenberg scored runs in the win.

Eversman pitched five innings, allowing six runs on nine hits, striking out three and walking one to take the win.

Campe had a triple and a single with a run scored in the Fairmont game two 10-11 loss to the Mankato Peppers.

Moeller added a single and a double, with three RBIs and a run scored.

Krzywicki and Gochanour each had two doubles, with Krzywicki scoring two runs.

Eversman and Arens each collected one RBI and scored a single run with one base hit in the game.

Walser and Mosloski each scored a run and had one hit, while Schuder collected an RBI with one hit.

Rosenberg scored two runs in the loss.

Krzywicki pitched five innings, allowing 11 runs on 12 hits, striking out four and walking two to take the loss.

Fairmont 16B softball (13-8) plays in the Junior Olympic ASA State Tournament at Buffalo from July 27-29.
