FAIRMONT - The Fairmont VFW Post 1222 batting order flexed its collective muscle during Saturday's baseball doubleheader against Lake Crystal at Herb Wolf Field.
Fairmont generated a total of 18 hits, including nine for extra bases, while Cole Emler and Josh Lindquist each hurled complete games to pace the home team's two-game sweep.
Emler fired a six-hitter from the mound while producing two hits, including a double, and two RBIs offensively to power Post 1222's opening 9-3 win in Fairmont.

Lindquist tossed a two-hit gem, while Parker Monsen went 2-for-2 with a double, two RBIs and three runs scored to engineer Fairmont's 13-3, four-inning triumph in Game 2.
"Our bats came alive today, while our two pitchers gave us (10) solid innings," said Post 1222 assistant coach Randy Chirpich.
Ironically, Emler allowed two runs on four hits during the top of the second inning in Game 1 before settling into a pitching rhythm.
Trailing 2-0, Bailey Koppen hammered a leadoff triple to deep center to trigger Fairmont's ensuing five-run outburst during the home half of the second.
Koppen scored when Emler launched an RBI double to left before Emler and Nate Johnson traded places via when Johnson duplicated Emler's RBI double.
Jon Dosedal proved double-trouble for Lake Crystal starting pitcher Chuck Menne by lashing a two-out RBI double to plate Johnson before Post 1222 added two more runs via an error and a steal of home during a rundown between first and second.
Two Lake Crystal errors combined with Emler's RBI fielder's choice, Johnson's single and Lindquist's sacrifice fly extended Fairmont's Game 1 lead to 8-2.
Jay Ruen later lined an RBI single to plate Monsen, who had singled and eventually reached third on a wild pitch, for Fairmont's final run in the last of the fourth.
Ruen, Emler and Johnson each collected two of Post 1222's nine hits in the opener, while Devon Hagged delivered an RBI single for Lake Crystal.
Emler allowed three runs - two earned - on six hits, walked three, struck out three and hit one batter in six frames to net the win.
Lindquist carried a no-hitter into the fourth and final frame of Game 2 before two Fairmont errors, combined with Shane Nelson's single and Jared VanRyswyk's RBI double, spoiled his shutout bid, too.
Lindquist, however, earned the victory by giving up zero earned runs on two hits, struck out five and did not issue a walk in four innings of work.
Monsen set the offensive table early and often during Game 2, smacking a leadoff double in the first at-bat before scoring on Spencer Chirpich's RBI groundout.
Ruen, who went 3-for-4 on the twinbill, was hit by a pitch, swiped second and third, and scored on Ben Abel's RBI groundout for an early 2-0 lead.
Koppen's RBI double and Ruen's three-run triple highlighted Fairmont's five-run second at-bat before Monsen and Chirpich pounded a two-run single and a two-run double, respectively, during a five-run third.
Dosedal, who was 2-fo-3 with a double during the two-game stint, singled home Josh Eversman - who had walked - to end Game 2 via the 10-run rule.
Emler went 2-for-3 with a double, while Ruen and Chirpich each collected three RBIs in Game 2.
VanRyswyk produced an RBI double to highlight Lake Crystal's Game 2 effort.
