To the Editor:
The recent Supreme Court ruling that the Affordable Care Act is constitutional, but only if the mandate is considered a tax, is interesting to say the least.
What is breathtaking is the fact that it was promoted, pledged, written up and pushed down our throats as a fine, or penalty. Not a tax. No way. This is President Obama's "Read my lips" moment.
When Chief Justice John Roberts rewrote the bill so it could pass the court's muster, it raised more than a few eyebrows. Many are wondering, "What happened?" Did Justice Roberts cave to pressure from the left? Is he sick? Is he trying to protect the integrity of the Supreme Court in some complicated way?
One thing I know for sure is that intended consequence or not, I and a lot of Americans realize that now more than ever we who are opposed to this health care monstrosity have only one option left for it's repeal and replacement. Barack Obama must be defeated in November.
