MANSON, Iowa - North Union combined five hits with four hit batters and three walks to produce an 8-3 non-league baseball victory over Manson-Northwest Webster during the Warriors' regular-season finale Thursday night in Manson, Iowa.
Garrett Johnson went 2-for-4, including a pivotal two-run double during a three-run third at-bat, to top North Union's offensive effort.
Alex Deitering tripled in four at-bats for the Warriors, Evan Hagebock singled home a run, while Jake Adams went 1-for-3 with a sacrifice bunt.
North Union's Brandon Kollasch went 0-for-1, but scored a pair of runs after being walked twice and being plunked by a pitch.
Starting pitcher Sawyer Doocy allowed three runs - two earned - on four hits, struck out eight and issued only one walk in five innings of work to earn the victory.
Zack Hurlburt recorded one strikeout and did not issue a walk in working two shutout innings of one-hit relief for the Warriors.
