Ingalls throws shutouts at Wolves

BANCROFT - North Union's Allie Ingalls threw a four-inning perfect game, and followed it up with a five-inning one-hit performance to guide the Warriors softball team to 12-0 and 10-0 Cornbelt Conference victories over Harris-Lake Park in Bancroft on Monday.

Ingalls faced the minimum 12 batters in game one, striking out eight on her way to the perfect game. The rest of the Warrior defense took care of the remaining four outs without an error.

North Union's Tori Johnson was hit by a pitch to start the scoring for the Warriors.

Cheyanne Boland singled, advancing Johnson to second. With two outs, Dena Looft got a hit to score Johnson for the first run of the game.

Harley Lindell stepped in and delivered a double in the next at-bat, scoring Boland and Looft to give North Union the 3-0 lead after one inning.

In the second, Autumn Boland got the Warriors started with a single, and scored on a wild pitch. Ingalls followed up with a double and scored on a fielder's choice to make it 5-0.

Cheyanne Boland added a solo home run in in the second inning to make it 6-0.

Collete Haag, Looft and Lindell each singled in the fourth inning to load the bases. Sara Johnson collected an RBI on a fielder's choice that scored Haag.

Jasmine Clausen hit a double and collected two RBIs, scoring Looft and Lindell.

With two outs in the fourth inning, Ingalls got a base hit to score Clausen. Pinch-runner Anna Bauer scored on Cheyanne Boland's double.

North Union's Collete Boland went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, two runs scored and three RBIs to guide the Warriors in their 12-run victory.

Lindell was 3-for-3 for the Warriors, with a double and two RBIs, while Ingalls went 3-for-4 with a double and one RBI.

Looft was 2-for-3 with a double, while Clausen had the game-winning double and RBI.

In game two, Ingalls allowed one hit and walked one while striking out eight on her way to a 10-0 five-inning victory.

After Cheyanne Boland and Collete Haag recorded base hits in the third inning, Looft belted a three-run homer to gain the 4-0 Warrior lead.

Ingalls led off the bottom of the fourth inning with a single and reached second on Johnson's single.

Looft collected two more RBIs, scoring Ingalls and Johnson on a base hit.

North Union hit four consecutive doubles in the fifth inning to score three runs.

Autumn Boland led off with the first double, followed by Ingalls who collected an RBI on her double, scoring Boland.

Johnson plated Ingalls on her double, then scored on Cheyanne Boland's double. Cheyanne Boland scored on Looft's sacrifice fly to end the game.

For North Union, Looft finished the game going 2-for-4 with a home run and six RBIs. Ingalls went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two runs scored and an RBI.

Cheyanne Boland and Johnson each went 3-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI for the Warriors.

North Union (28-4) hosts Forest City on Thursday for a 5:30 p.m. matchup in Swea City.
