WELCOME - Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial's Bryan Davis assembled a perfect day at the plate Saturday.

Davis belted three home runs to power the No. 6-seeded Knights to a 6-1 baseball playoff victory over No. 3-seeded Martin County West in Welcome.

LCWM (9-11) advances to face No. 2-seeded Waterville- Elysian-Morristown at 5 p.m. Tuesday in Section 2A, South Sub-Section semifinal action in Waterville. WEM gained the next round via a 9-0 victory over Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton.

The Mavericks end the season at 7-8.

Davis led off the playoff game with a solo homer, hit another solo shot in the third and cranked a two-run homer in the fourth.

Brandon Gilman and Jordan Nelson also produced three hits each for the Knights, with Gilman doubling twice.

Gilman allowed one run on three hits, fanned nine and walked three in seven innings to earn the complete-game victory.

Alex Biehn, Jacob Faber and Austin Krumwiede collected MCW's hits, while Josiah Ebeling drove in the Mavs' run with a sacrifice fly in the fourth.

Krumwiede gave up four runs on seven hits and struck out two in 3 1/3 innings to take the loss. Faber gave up two runs on four hits and fanned five in 3 2/3 innings of relief.
