To the Editor:
After serving 24 years on the board of directors for the Martin Soil and Water Conservation District, I have decided to retire at the end of my term in December. I encourage anyone in Area 3 who is interested or knows someone who possess strong environmental qualities and a desire to improve our natural resources to seriously consider this position.
Filings to elect a new representative for this position are now being held through June 5. Area 3 consists of the following townships: Tenhassen, Silver Lake, Pleasant Prairie, East Chain and farm land in Fairmont Township. Any questions about filing can be directed to the Soil and Water Office or calling (507) 235-6680.
I would like at this time to sincerely express my deep appreciation for the support I have received over these many years from my constituents, Soil and Water employees, and fellow board members. It has been a truly learning experience and honor to have served with all of you in working to preserve our natural resources. Your dedication and friendship will always be remembered.
