To the Editor:
Our gratitude goes out to the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts who spent a beautiful Saturday morning distributing Scouting for Food bags and picked them up the following weekend.
Captain Mikey Carter of the Salvation Army reported that 2,960 pounds of food was brought into their food shelf from Fairmont, Truman, Northrop and Lewisville.
Many thanks to the Scouts involved and to the volunteers at the Salvation Army who had the task of sorting and putting away nearly 3,000 pounds of food.
Thank you to all the community members who took part in the Scouting for Food drive, as none of this would have been possible without your support.
Kevin Saari, Pack 57
