To the Editor:
Fairmont is blessed with many wonderful people willing to volunteer. With their help, 369 families (472 children and 682 adults) received food at the distribution on Tuesday, Jan. 31.
I offer special thanks for Fairmont National Guard Armory for the use of its facility. Grateful thanks to Heaven's Table Food Shelf officers, board members and Pastor John Heille for their help in organizing this event. A heartfelt thanks to the volunteers of First Congregational Church, Grace Lutheran Church, St. Martin's Episcopal Church, Covenant Church, The Christian Church, Minnesota Workforce Center, Valero, Fairmont High School boys golf team and the many, many others who helped by taping and packing boxes, repacking fruit, sorting baked goods, loading vehicles, and cleaning up.
I also gratefully acknowledge contributions of money, supplies, shopping carts or boxes from Grace Lutheran Church, Wamart, McDonald's, Fairmont Liquor Store, Five Lakes Centre, Kwik Trip and HyVee.
I am proud to live in a community that is so willing to help others in need. Thank you.
