To the Editor:
Recently, letters to the editor focused mainly on the Fairmont Area Schools referendum, and understandably so.
I wish to express my deep disappointment in the voters of our school district. I am not disappointed that the referendum failed; I am disappointed in the voter turnout.
GHEC school district had 632 voters. Fairmont Area school district had 3,031 voters. Do you see the difference?
To me, this was not a victory for Joe Brown and the teachers union, nor was it a victory for some politicians in St. Paul. This was a victory for GHEC, and a major failure for Fairmont Area. Next time, it is my sincere wish that the superintendent, the teachers, the students and the voters all make it their top priority to analyze the situation, and vote accordingly.
