Rochefort appears in court
Sarah Day — Sentinel Staff WriterBLUE EARTH - The man charged with methamphetamine related crimes appeared in court Monday.
Rick Allen Rochefort, 48, of Delavan was arrested Nov. 6, following GPS surveillance and a traffic stop for a warrant from the Department of Corrections. He allegedly had an active meth lab in his vehicle, an active meth lab at his home in Winnebago and materials to manufacture meth at a home in Blue Earth.
Rochefort appeared in Faribault County District Court Monday for an omnibus hearing, where determination of sufficient fact for charges and any issues are presented. Public defender Patrick Casey asked for a continued contested omnibus hearing to be scheduled a month out because he was still waiting for disclosures from the county attorney. Casey is waiting for squad video tapes, information on the GPS monitoring and Bureau of Criminal Apprehension results on the testing of substances found in Rochefort's homes and car.
County Attorney Brian Roverud said copies of the squad tapes were being made during the court hearing. The GPS information would be available within two weeks. Roverud couldn't speak to the timeliness of the BCA results.
The next hearing for Rochefort will be 10 a.m. Jan. 11.
