Alan R. LeMier

FAIRMONT - Services for Alan R. LeMier, 51, of Fairmont, Minn., will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 4, 2009, at the United Methodist Church in Fairmont. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Fairmont. Visitation will be Thursday, December 3, 2009, from 4-8 p.m. at the Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont. Alan passed away on Tuesday evening, December 1, 2009, at his home in Fairmont.

Alan R. LeMier was born on February 16, 1958, in Triumph, Minn. He was the son of Maynard LeMier and Ruth McGowan (Ehlers). Alan attended school in Fairmont and graduated from Welcome High School.

On May 4, 1991, Alan was united in marriage to Catherine D. Hammond in Welcome, Minn. After they were married the couple made their home in Fairmont. Alan was employed at Fairmont Foods as a forklift operator for 21 years.

Alan was known as an easy-going person who just enjoyed life. He loved to help people as well as entertain them with his sense of humor. Alan was a handy-man who could fix just about anything. His many hobbies include small engine repair, his cat and puppies, camping and fishing in Cross Lake and East Chain. He especially loved spending time with his family, including his special great nieces and nephews.

Left to cherish his memory include his wife, Cathy LeMier of Fairmont; father, Maynard LeMier of Fairmont; mother, Ruth McGowan of Fairmont; sister, Lucy LeMier and significant other, Ted Urban of Welcome; brother, Curtis LeMier; mother-in-law, Bonnie Hammond; sister-in-law, Cheryl Wold; brother-in-law, Jim Cooper of Welcome; nieces and nephews, Patrick Cooper and his wife, Ynovis of St. Paul, Crystal LeMier-Cooper of Dunnell; Todd Johnsen and his wife, April of Forrest Lake, Amanda Wold of Minneapolis, and Holly Urban; great nieces and nephews, Cordell Kain, Jorgia Kain, Adrian Urban, Tevin Urban, Lauren Johnsen, Aaron Johnsen, and Luke Johnsen Alan was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lucille and Ira Ehlers; paternal grandparents, Margaret and Glen LeMier; sister, Brenda Cooper; brother, Kenneth LeMier, stepfather, John McGowan; father-in-law, Gordon Hammond; nephew, Brayden Kain; and uncle, Roger Ehlers.
