Helen L. Oswald
ELMORE - Services for Helen L. (Stoufer) Oswald, 89, of West St. Paul, formerly of Elmore, Minn., will be held noon Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, at Lakeview Funeral Home Chapel in Fairmont. Interment will be in Fairview Memorial Park in Fairmont.
Visi-tation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the Lakeview Funeral Home. Helen passed away on Saturday evening, Oct. 24, 2009, at Southview Acres Care Center in St. Paul.
Helen Lou (Stoufer) Oswald was born on April 21, 1920, in Alpha, Minn., daughter of Earl and Emma (Meister) Stoufer. She graduated from Sherburn High School in 1938.
Helen was united in marriage to Lawrence Osberg on Oct. 29, 1939. They had four children. Lawrence passed away in August of 1955. Together they ran the Pan Pride Bakery in Elmore. On May 1, 1975, Helen was married to Maynard Oswald in Elmore, Minn. They lived in the Blue Earth-Fairmont area and moved to Stewartville, Minn., in 1990, just prior to his death. Helen moved to Hastings, Minn., in July of 2003, and lived at Oakridge Senior Community. In November of 2005, she moved to West St. Paul and lived at Southview Senior Community until the time of her death.
Left to cherish her memory are her oldest son, Dave Osberg and his wife, Dianne, of Rapid City, S.D., her youngest daughter Mary Lee and her husband, Ken, of Humboldt, Iowa; her youngest son John Osberg of Duluth, Minn.; and oldest daughter Suzanne Ristau of Inver Grove Heights, Minn., and her fianc, Jim Spurrier of Lakeview, Minn.; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Emma Stoufer; husband, Lawrence Osberg, husband, Maynard Oswald; special friend, Jack Vaughn; three sisters; grandson, John Heetland; and nephews, Roger and Mike Pendergast.
