Matthew D. Sundquist

BRICELYN - Matthew D. Sundquist, age 15, of Bricelyn, died Monday, August 10, 2009, at his home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 14, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at Hope United Methodist Church in Blue Earth, with Rev. Kathleen R. Menne officiating. Visitation time will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Patton Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th Street, Blue Earth, and one hour prior to services at the church.

Matt was born on September 3, 1993, in Marshall, Minn., the son of Bruce and Dorothy (Skorczewski) Sundquist.

He lived in Porter, Minn., as a young boy, then moved briefly to Blue Earth and finally to Bricelyn in 1998. He was a student at Blue Earth Area High School and enjoyed spending time with his many friends, who nick-named him "Fluffy." He was a free spirit who loved being outdoors and loved animals, but his biggest passion was trick riding his bike that he called his baby. The more air under him the better.

Matt is survived by his mother, Dorothy Sundquist and her husband, Tom Bulander, of Bricelyn; his father, Bruce (and Kim) Sundquist of Mankato; his brother, Brent Sundquist of Mankato, his brother, Christopher Sundquist of Bricelyn; his maternal grandparents, George (and Alice) Skorczewski of Hendricks; his paternal grandparents, Frank (and Marsha) Ochocki of Canby; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his uncles, Douglas Skorczewski and Dale Bower; and his cousin, Natasha Skorczewski.
