TRUMAN - Memorial Services for Cleo C. Tarrant, 83, of Truman will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, with visitation one hour prior, at Zaharia Family Funeral Home, in Truman. Interment will be held at a later date in South Dakota.

Tarrant died Monday, July 27, 2009, in Fairmont.

Cleo Cora Miller was born June 18, 1926, at Colton, S.D., to Paul S. and Alice L. (Cassens) Miller.

She is survived by husband of 65 years, Paul; daughters: Linda (Steven) Huse, of Sherburn, Minn., Carla Tarrant, Eden Valley, Minn., and sons Mark Tarrant, Truman, and Alan (Kandi) Tarrant, Evansville, Ind.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father and step-mother: Paul (Mabel) Miller; mother and step-father: Alice(Albert) Ostbye; sister Blanche Miller; son, Richard; and grandson, Garrett Tarrant.

Cleo and Paul made their home in Truman since 1966. She was well known locally as the "Horse Lady" for her oil painting and she loved gardening.
