Dell L. Norton

BLUE EARTH - Dell Leo Norton was born to Delbert and Dorothea (Simser) Norton on December 3, 1930, in Great Falls, Mont. His parents moved to the Blue Earth, Minn., area where he and his siblings graduated from East Chain High School. In 1969, Dell and his family moved to Luverne, Minn., where he traveled for A.R. Woods as a Regional Sales Manager for many years. After retiring, he lived in various places including Arkansas, Texas, Wyoming, Montana and most recently in Valley Springs, S.D. In July of 2008, Dell was diagnosed with lung cancer. On Wednesday, August 13, 2008, he died peacefully at the Sanford Luverne Hospice Cottage in Luverne at the age of 77 years, eight months, and ten days.

Dell enjoyed small chores including mowing, fixing things and remodeling projects. He always had a minute to enjoy a conversation with anyone.

He is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Deb and her husband Mark Hovland of Luverne; two sons, Todd and his wife Linda Norton of Crystal, Minn., and Scott Norton of Canfield, Ohio; a step-son, Seth and his wife Heather Dixon of Correctionville, Iowa; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Laurel Lea and her husband Jimmy Shultz of Texarkana, Texas, and Phyllis Seger of Rogue River, Ore.; and one brother, Daniel and his wife Altrice Norton of Hohenwald, Tenn. Dell was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothea and Delbert, two infant siblings and his son, Neal.
