Dennis J. Doocy

LEDYARD, Iowa - Services for Dennis J. Doocy, 76, of Ledyard, Iowa, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Catholic Church in Bancroft, Iowa. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Ledyard with military honors conducted by the Ledyard American Legion.

Doocy died Saturday morning, August 16, 2008, at his home in Ledyard. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home, Bancroft, with a scripture prayer service beginning at 7 p.m. followed by a rosary. Further visitation will be one hour prior to the mass at the church on Wednesday.

Survivors include: wife, Evelyn Doocy of Ledyard; sons, Tim of Edmond Okla., Ken of Georgetown, Texas, John of Austin, Texas, Dan of Des Moines, Iowa; daughters, Karen Bueltel of Glenwood, Iowa, Chris Doocy of Omaha, Neb., and Laura Doocy of Omaha, Neb.; 10 grandchildren; sisters Marge Smith of Elmore, Kathryn Engelby of Albert Lea, Georgia Engelby of Ledyard, Shirley Fenstermaker of Homerville, Ohio, Delores Schwab of Granada, and Diane Krosch of Elmore; and brother, Thomas Doocy of Lakeville.
