SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — Several counties in southeast South Dakota, southwest Minnesota and northwest Iowa are under a tornado watch until 9 p.m.
The National Weather Service in Sioux Falls says large hail and isolated tornadoes are possible.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue to develop and move primarily in areas north of Interstate 90 and east of Interstate 29 Thursday afternoon.
The weather service says most of the rain through 4 p.m. should hit northeast of a line from Huron, South Dakota, to Spencer, Iowa.
The storms in southwest Minnesota could produce hail up to the size of baseballs and gusts of about 65 mph.
