FAIRMONT — Funeral service for Lorna E. Senne, 87, of Mankato, formerly of Fairmont, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 29, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fairmont. Burial will follow in Fairview Memorial Park in Fairmont.
Lorna passed away Tuesday evening, March 25, 2008, at the Pathstone Living in Mankato. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday at the Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Lorna Elizabeth Beck was born on October 5, 1920, in Charleston, Okla., the daughter of Dorothy (Metz) and Rev. A.M. Beck. The family moved to Fairmont in 1922 where Lorna attended school. She was united in marriage to Victor Senne on October 31, 1937, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Fairmont. After their marriage they farmed in Fraser Township and operated Senne’s Produce in Welcome. They retired in 1985 and moved into Fairmont. In July of 2000, Lorna and Victor moved to Mankato to be closer to family. Victor passed away in November of 2003. Lorna was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fairmont where she was active in Women of Immanuel and Ruth’s Circle.
She is survived by three sons, David Senne and his wife, Judy, of Grand Forks, N.D., Roger Senne and his wife, Carol, of Orange, Calif., Byron Senne and his wife, Bernadine, of Blaine, Minn.; three daughters, Debra Morse and her husband, Kim, of Eagan, Minn., Donna Vanderhoof and her husband, Donald, of Mankato, Minn., Julie Digman and her husband, Daniel, of Burnsville, Minn.; 26 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one sister, Anita Bode of Tempe, Ariz.; sister-in-law, Joline Birdzell and her husband, Wayne, of Santa Anna, Calif.; two brothers-in-law, Maynard Jentz and Kenneth Rippel, both of Fairmont; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, in-laws and husband, Lorna was also preceded in death by two sisters, Verona Rippel and Hildegard Jentz; two brothers, Gilbert Beck and Arthur Beck; three sisters-in-law, Sylvia Senne, Betty Senne and Phyllis Senne; two brothers-in-law, Donald Bode and Clifford Senne.
