The first problem is Fairmont DOESN'T have a ready workforce. Agco is even having trouble filling its jobs. I think the council needs to do more to provide for affordable housing and start to build the population back up. With all of todays technologies, Companies are very informed about what talents the workforce has . Fairmont needs a community center for todays youth and Fairmont ever growing senior population. Lets keep what we have and try to make Fairmont a better place to live. I think until Fairmont admits that its an Ag community and tries to build from that, it could be a tough road to hoe.

How is Fairmont not dying in terms of it's business environment? Economic growth in a town like Fairmont is not rocket science. Our leaders need to sell our city to major manufacturers. Low crime, great schooling, beautiful scenery, a ready workforce, and located on the I-90 corridor. Go door-to-door to these manufacturers and SELL.
