"Stindtman was contacted Monday about the company requesting permission to dump the dirt on the land between Walmart and the state highway garage on the fairgrounds road, beginning later this month.

County Attorney Troy Timmerman said the process might require a conditional use permit and a public hearing.

Commissioners wanted to know if there is enough time before the construction starts to schedule the public hearing.

Stindtman said there is a required 10-day waiting period that begins the day of publication, so it would be the middle of the month before a public hearing could be scheduled. Furthermore, Ulland Bros. needs to file paperwork to start the process."

Why not create some more regulations to increase the cost of building infrastructure while we are at it? Dirt dumping on dirt -- who would have thought there would be a problem there...

Surely there was a plan in the project to put the "dirt" somewhere... Where is the responsible State Engineer being held accountable for this?

Someone please tell me who the person responsible for this is?

What a shocker. The county that is out of touch with everything is going to add a tax. How about some service on the money you hacks already screw everyone out of? Something, ANYTHING. I'd probably have an aneurism if I saw a sheriff in Huntley, without a map unfolded, more than twice a week. I haven't seen a ticket wrote for anything in years here. How about that one for an idea. Use your fines on county roads for your "repairs". Or is this money going to get shuttled around and used for another pork project. We already pay a road tax. What do you think the taxes at the pump are for people?? And if you're going to tax everything make sure the real road killers are in there. All these oversized tractors, 700 bsl wagons, 10,000 gallon manure haulers. But ya won't. Your either all farmers or related to them. Follow the money honey
