"Humpal said none have been installed since at least 1995"

I tell you what zbag12, get your pen and paper and just **try** to get a well permit in Fairmont. You would have better luck finding a unicorn fart...

blue 5011, Humpal said so himself they can't deny you to put a well in. They can raise sewer rates, but if you have the room to put a well in you have the right to put a well in, for example, the hospital or poppies gas station.

Too bad the ethanol plant is shut down. How many gallons of water were they dumping into Center Creek? No reason that water couldn't have been used for irrigation.

As much at it pains me to say, The school may be onto something here. But I would like to see what it costs the school for water in a years time. maybe hook the entire school up to a well? The city of fairmont is going to force a lot of their large accounts into well service if they keep raising rates in 10 percent increments.

Thinking

Mar-12-13 7:11 AM

It may be hard to believe, but sports play a huge role in schools. When the school has a winning season, the students follow the team, they become more involved, and discipline problems go down. Some towns feel that sports are what keep them together. Do you think that GHEC would have stayed together this long if it were not for the basketball program? The other thing that you have to understand is that football is one of the few sports that make money for the school. This helps offset the other sports. At least this is what I have been lead to believe. Makes since to me if you can make an investment today and save money tomorrow.

""We are the only district in our conference that isn't allowed to water our fields," said Joe Brown, superintendent."

That is a crap statement and you know it Mr Superintendent. There is absolutely NO reason you cannot get water from an alternate source for the football and baseball fields.
