Surely one can't burn wood for heat. That was part of the problem last time Obama wanted to go down this road. They want to immediately disassemble wood burning stoves and take them for scrap material. They want to regulate everything. This will be great for our country while countries like China and India continue to pollute at will.

The reason that so many jobs are shipped to China is not about oil. It the lack of enforcement of the tariffs started by tariffs and excise taxes were authorized by the United States Constitution and recommended by the first United States Secretary of the Treasury, Alexander Hamilton in 1789 to tax foreign imports under President George Washington who wanted an American made coat for his nauguration but could not buy one made in the USA since most goods were coming from England. Starting with Reagan, tariffs were no longer enforced so the off shoring of work began because of greed, not oil. Surely one can burn wood for heat.

The conspiracy theorists Anderson and Smith are at it again. When will they ever use their own brains instead of FoxNews talking points?

Great idea, wolfy! lets add more tax burden on companies so they can lay off more workers and we can outsource more jobs to China. Oh, but wait we can create more government jobs to regulate these companies and to act as big brother so you put the correct wattage bulbs in your house and so you don't burn actual wood in your fireplace. Wood in a fireplace??? That is just crazy talk!!!!

A carbon tax makes perfect sense to me. You tax carbon at the source such as at the well head or coal mine. Our course gas prices will rise but you give the money back to the people, giving low income a higher percentage of funds collected. Then they can buy more a efficient car or furnace or insulation, reducing their energy bill. This would encourage better energy efficiency.
