It will be nice not to have to go to Walmart for everything or step foot in our fake fleet and farm just to be ignored by the 5 guys at the back desk talking about their weekends.

I completely agree, fleet and farm is the worst place for customer service and even if you complain they still dont care or do anything about it. I wish I could get paid to sit and the desk and chat. I am really excited and hope that True value does well, just please find some helpful people and you can run Fleet and Farm out of Fairmont, customer service is very important no matter what profession you are in it is what people remember and that is why they come back.

Competition is always good...not sure if Mall is best location. If you want to see what a hardware store should be, visit Arrow Hardware in Mankato (strip mall by Madison East McDonalds). Those salespeople are right there, ready to serve you (they have items not found at Menards, too). Prices are good, too. Welcome to Fairmont !

Have to agree with all of the comments already posted.I wish them the best of luck and hope that Fleet will take notice of them.Fleet is outrageous with their prices and their customer service is poor at best.It is the most unwelcome place to shop. They literally kick you out so they can close on time and are rude about it.Not to mention they treat people like thieves by constantly watching every move. I've heard lots of people say this about them.

I don't want Fleet to be run out of business. I doubt they will close because have a big selection of goods. I just want them to get their prices in line. Five bucks more than walmart for a flashlight or a tape measure is rediculous. As far as customer service, they will have to be better too or they will of course suffer. Better to see competition than see them close. Anyway, best of luck True Value! Hope the workers make a decent wage.

It'll last a couple years, then fail like all the other new businesses in Fairmont.
