| | Whew...September 4, 2012 - Kylie SaariAugust is over! Whew. Each year I am surprised by the whirlwind August is for me, and each year I am too busy to consider it more closely for better results next year. It starts for me with FarmFest, a three day farm extravaganza near Marshall. I love covering FarmFest — I get really interesting information to pass along and learn what is important out there in the farming community. But the heat, the dirt, the politics — it is exhausting! Martin County Fair follows on FarmFest's heels the next week, and again, fun, but tiring. By this time, I am writing several stories per day, plus photos, and my children begin to seem surprised if I actually arrive at home in time for them to see me. Fair week is followed by my birthday and its various celebrations, and then there is the end of summer wrap-ups and school supply shopping before school starts in the last week. It is now early Sept. and I am raring to get back into the school year routine. We only have a couple of weeks again before school year activities begin and the crazy busy schedule ramps up again, but I'll enjoy it while I can.
