Geese migrating already?

Seems like it was just a couple of weeks ago, I stood outside and watched V after V after V of Canadian geese fly overhead, moving in a southwesterly direction.

Lately, I’ve heard honking and looked up to see them flying back the other direction.

Isn’t it a little early for them to be doing the spring migration? Or are they just moving around this area because the winter’s been so mild?
