Blender pumps

September 22, 2008 - Kylie Saari
I am pumped about a new fuel option we are going to have in Fairmont soon. The story is still holding on some official information confirmation, but it is so neat I thought I would clue you in early. Look for the story in the Sentinel later this week. A gas station in Fairmont is getting blender pumps where you can choose to blend higher than 10 percent ethanol into your fuel tank. Lots of studies have been done on how efficient it is for cars and how well they run on them, and I am pretty excited to see we are getting one. There aren't many around. If you Google map them, it is pretty amazing to see where they are all located in the US. Same goes for E85 pumps. My father-in-law in the Twin Cities was recently complaining that he has to drive so far to get to a E85 pump for his flex fuel vehicle he doesn't even bother, and we have them within arms reach. There is a hitch with the blender pumps, so read the story when it comes out to find out the problem.
