December 21, 2011 - Jennifer Brookens
In the tradition of celebrating meaningless milestones, this is my 200th blog entry since the Sentinel reporters began keeping blogs on this Web site. (Yay, me! I guess.)
Thinking of ways to celebrate this, I considered the 200 different cookies, candies, and cakes that were brought in for the Christmas potluck. But then I remember 200 is also a number on my bathroom scale - EEK!
I could go on a vacation 200 miles away, but it won't get me to the warm weather I crave (though I shouldn't complain after the past three winters we've had).
In tradition of most of my blogs, I could make 200 wisecracks. Or consider shedding 200 tears for the sentimental ones. It'd also be nice to get a $200 bonus for this feat... Whadd'ya think, guys, hint, hint, eh? ... No? Fine then.
But I guess the best representation would be the 200 hours approximate that I've put into this blog. Unless I happen to be struck with creativity or just find something amusing, it usually takes some time - about an hour - to formulate these little nuggets of joy or observation I write on here.
And for those of you who've made it this far, and have even come back for more, thank you! Hopefully I'll have some more fun stories and interesting insights to share in 2012! Enjoy your Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa/Winter Solstice/New Year!
