Think before hitting 'send'

August 9, 2011 - Jodelle Greiner
You guys do realize that the comment boards can be read by EVERYONE, right?

I’m reading comments that we need to promote lake tourism, then someone else complains about how nasty the lakes are... that’ll make everyone want to come, don’t ya think?

There’s a lot of talk about trying to attract businesses. Well, businesses check out an area before they decide whether to invest a ton of money in a new venture. They check out existing businesses, the area’s vibrancy and growth rate, taxes, transportation proximity, availability of workforce... and they gauge the attitude of the people. How do people feel about this area, will they support a new business, are they willing to work together to solve problems and make improvements....

Everybody’s entitled to their own opinion, and blowing off steam can be cathartic, but be very sure before you hit send because those words stay out there for a very long time, and what you say represents this area.

Just wanted to point that out.
