So, for those of you who read regularly, you will note a theme in my recent blogs — basically I don't know how to relax and I need a vacation.
Well, I am hear to tell you not to worry any longer for I have recently returned from a much dreaded trip to the Badlands, and it was fantastic.
The weather was beautiful, the kids were well behaved, and even my husband started humming to himself halfway there and was enjoying himself thoroughly.
I did check in, kept in contact with co-workers to find out what was going on here, but didn't stress about it. The nagging pain in my back released and for the first time in a long time, I didn't need to live on analgesics.
We could have easily spent another week or two out there and not gotten done all that we wanted, but at least we know it is waiting should we decide to go on another vacation someday.
Maybe I'll have another crack at that hammock without a project in my lap. I recommend those who, like me, thought relaxation was overrated to try it, and try it until it works.
