Broken Hearted

You know when something hits you so hard you can't shake the feeling? Maybe a bad dream leaves you snarly in the morning, or good news leaves you beaming like the sun for hours.

That is the experience I had after reading this article from CNN.

I read a lot of news, and a lot of it is bad, but this one was difficult. I even was stuck on if I should share it with you, because I certainly don't want you to feel the way I did.

Ultimately I am sharing it because it illustrates how mangled good and bad can become in this messed up society we live in. My kids are the ages of the younger two in this story, and I can see this happening. I can hear younger child refusing to do what the bullies asked. I can see the older trying to run down 14 flights of stairs.

The irony is that I found this story because it was linked to a story about how good our kids are these days and how parents dwell on the bad news. I can't help but find the linking of these to stories either a commentary by CNN or a commentary about them.
