| | Rage Against the PantsJuly 15, 2010 - Jennifer BrookensMy son is rebelling against pants. Granted I can see how the diapers would get pretty uncomfortable in this heat, but at the age of two and no real toilet-training experience there is really no choice for him. So far, attempts at "going on the potty" have been met with indifference. Mostly, he just realizes, "There's a hole in this chair," and gets up and walks away. But anytime there is a changing, or attempt to replace a diaper, it's all-out madness. My son becomes the pantless wonder, running laps around the dining room, grossing out his older sister. It has been a Mom and Dad tag team to get a diaper on, and now I bet we could work the rodeo circuit. When it's just Mom, watch out. Two mornings in a row, my only recourse to keep that diaper on is to immediately lock him into his carseat. Which means Mom and Sister better be ready to roll. This has become evident as I survey my van which has hairbrushes, pony tail holders, the morning papers, garden sandals VS work shoes, and not to mention the variations of half-eaten breakfasts. OSHA would have a field day. So obviously, we need to come to some common ground and soon - we're running out of crib sheets and Scotchguard! Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article.
