Lovelorn letter to Spring Weather

May 13, 2010 - Jennifer Brookens

Dear Spring Weather,

I miss you. Was it something I said? Did you feel I was laying our faults at your feet with my last blog? I wasn't. But it seems that ever since I said that, I haven't seen much of your golden rays and have had nothing but cool, grey rain in our world.

What happened to all that fun we had last month? You bumped the temp up to 70-degrees, teased us with 80. You made our flowers and grass grow, and allowed me to put away that snow blower and we had to mow the front and back yard. Twice.

Dearest Spring Weather, it was thoughts of you that kept me going through that cruel winter. Knowing that eventually you'd be here. And now that you've disappeared, that dreariness is trying to settle back in. So many of us depend on you to lift our moods and spirits... Won't you please reconsider?

I will not take those warm, glorious rays of yours for granted again. I will not shrug off another beautiful day you provide by being an indoor slug in front of the TV/computer. I'll do more with my garden, go on more walks... whatever it takes to bring you back to us. Because - literally - our lives are grey without you.

Please come back to us soon!

All my love, Jenn
