A colleague and I were recently discussing an important issue in the newsroom — what, exactly, are people who live in Fairmont called?

This may not arise in your workplace discussions, but around here, typing Fairmont resident, or Fairmont native, or Fairmont business several times a day gets old.

People who live in New York are New Yorkers. People from Chicago are Chicagoans. Detroit natives are Detroiters.

So, Fairmont readers, I need your opinion — are we Fairmontonians or Fairmonters?
