More stuff on the Web site

A friend of mine ordered me today to update my blog. I have been on vacation, so I hadn't written anything here in more than a week. I kind of laughed when she said that. It's a little strange for us newspaper people to be dealing with all this new Web site stuff. Or to know that anyone really wants to see what you have to say next. In any case, the Sentinel has just begun doing more on its Web site. We recently added items such as engagements, weddings, anniversaries, birthdays and letters to the editor. Also we are now putting all our bylined stories on the site. The goal is to make the site more of a destination, to have robust content that will attract readers and advertisers. Newspapers, like other media — radio and TV — are trying to become more multi-dimensional. We hope you not only find things to read and view here, but also contribute to the dialogue as one of our site members. In any case, I'll try to keep an eye on updating my blog. This one's for you, Kim.
