| | HINIOctober 14, 2009 - Kylie SaariInfluenza-like Illness, that topic I have written about over and over in stories about the school district, has landed at my house. It awoke me at 4:30 a.m., in the form of a kitten-like mewl coming out of the mouth of my burning hot son as he tried to climb into bed with me. It turns out the mewl was the only sound his sore little throat could produce. As we laid on the couch that early morning, after I reported his illness to his school, I told him that I had just written a story about how he was feeling and we laughed as I told him in my first draft I miswrote throat as thought. A sore thought is a funny idea in pre-dawn. His fever didn't last too long. By afternoon it had peaked at 102 and was coming down again. We will see if he can keep the specter of H1N1 at bay.
