Mu, not moo

My husband just pointed out that when spoken, mu sounds like moo, in the bovine sense of the word.

"If you go around mu-ing at people, they'll think you're freakin' weird," he wisely pointed out.

Indeed.

Capturing these sort of moments is what writing is truly all about. I like to collect random things people say, and I seem to stumble across these little notes when I am in need of a good laugh.

For instance, words of wisdom shared by a colleague when discussing confusion over the word "moot" -- as in, "moot point" -- are now posted above my desk.

"Cows don't say mew, they say moo!" she proclaimed.

Indeed. Or rather, mu.
